Design Process

Customers often ask what the Mariotti Building Products design process is and how long it can take. Below is a guideline for the average project.

  • You, our customer, will make an appointment, or stop by our showroom, to meet with one of our six designers or three support staff members.
  • A member of our team will guide you around the showroom, answer questions, and learn a little about your taste (likes, dislikes, wood specie, wood finishes, and scope of the project).
  • After some designs, wood species, & colors have been discussed, the designer will set up an appointment, convenient to you, to come to your house for a free in-home measurement of your kitchen or bath project.
  • At your scheduled appointment, the designer will measure your kitchen or bath. The designer will also answer any questions or concerns about design issues that you may have. Once these have been addressed, the designer will set up an appointment for you to come back into the showroom and review the design and pricing.
  • The designer will do a layout (drawing) to ensure that all of the customer’s requests can be accommodated. The layout will show sizes and dimensions, including cabinetry information specific to what you selected.
  • Once the layout is complete, it is handed over to our design support staff. They turn the layout into a 20/20 (computer generated) drawing, which shows you an elevation drawing of all the fine details of the kitchen or bath project, including cabinet style, crown molding, appliances, etc.
  • Once your 20/20 drawing is complete, you will come in to meet with the designer and go over the layout, computer generated drawings, and pricing. At this time, any possible changes or last minute questions are addressed and resolved.
  • If you agree to the project proposal, a deposit may be placed on your project and the order process will begin.
  • The cabinet line you choose will determine the lead time. This can vary from one day to six weeks.
  • When the cabinets arrive, a delivery will be scheduled and two of our trained drivers will deliver the new cabinets to your home.
  • If Mariotti Building Products is installing your kitchen or bath, our highly skilled professional installation crew will begin installing your new kitchen or bath. Installation time depends on the overall size of the project, but averages two to four days.
  • Once the cabinets are installed, your countertop is ready for template and installation. The type of material (laminate, Corian, granite, or quartz) will determine the length of your installation time. This can vary from one to two weeks. Once your new countertop is installed, this will complete the process for your new kitchen or bath cabinet and countertop project.
